Culture Shock

One summer when I was 10 yrs old, I went with my family to visit the Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City; Mexico's biggest cathedral.

As we were walking around, I noticed a group of people that looked of Mexican descent but were talking in a language that I've never heard of before. I asked my mom what language they were speaking and she told me the Aztec language Nahuatl. I had heard before that the language was still used, but i never thought that I will ever see people speaking it.

I was fascinated of how old the language is and how it continues to exist despite Spanish being the most spoken language in Mexico.

A little something about me

I am currently a junior, majoring in Marketing and Advertising. I am also minoring in Psychology and graphic communications.

I am a very friendly chick. I enjoy long walks when it is warm out and having interesting conversations with people. Some of my favorite hobbies include running, shopping, going to the movies and traveling whenever I can. I'm also captain of the women's cross country team.

One thing that I am very excited about is celebrating my 21st birthday in Riviera Maya, Mexico during spring break. I can't wait to get away from this cold weather!.

Well that's all I have to write about myself. I look forward to this class and this semester :).
